AFFIRM Joins Trust Practices Network, Supporting National Effort to Improve Healthcare

Trust in organized institutions continues to decline, and healthcare is not immune from this worrying trend. The COVID-19 pandemic has made clear that when people lose trust in government, physicians, and other traditional authority figures, it can mean disastrous results for society.

That’s why AFFIRM is proudly participating in the ABIM Foundation’s Building Trust initiative and Trust Practices Network. Healthcare organizations and stakeholders need to work together to identify, share and implement approaches to bolster trust among physicians, patients, government, and others. It’s the first step toward ensuring that our healthcare system can meet the needs of everyone at the community level.

As a member of the ABIM Foundation’s Trust Practices Network, AFFIRM submitted best practices to build trust in healthcare by fostering collaboration between healthcare workers and firearms stakeholders through careful and non-judgmental listening and communication - a key aspect of trust.

Sharing our experiences and insights as part of this national effort will help start conversations and build momentum for positive change. Learn about other organizations’ trust-building best practices and the Building Trust program at BuildingTrust.org.
