Heather Sher, MD is the Chief of Musculoskeletal Radiology at North Broward Radiologists in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and serves as a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Sher received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she also completed her residency in Radiology with subspecialization in Musculoskeletal MRI. She has seen firsthand the devastating impact of high-velocity AR-15 gunshot wounds in her clinical practice, specifically during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting. She was also working clinically during the Fort Lauderdale airport mass shooting the year before. Dr. Sher has been a consistent leader in developing a factual, non-partisan message about doctors’ role in firearm safety. Her work has been featured in media outlets ranging from the Atlantic (where her piece is among the most-downloaded ever) to USA Today.
