AFFIRM (American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine) is the nation’s leading non-partisan network of 40,000+ healthcare professionals, public health experts, and researchers who are committed to reducing gun violence. Our mission is to reduce the American epidemic of firearm injury (over 150,000 injuries and deaths in 2017 alone) with research, evidence-based practice, and community partnerships.

AFFIRM’s team of researchers and clinicians will find lasting solutions to curb the trend of epidemic of gun violence across the United States. Our funding goes directly to research and medical experts who can implement life saving programs that will stop the shooters before they shoot. Our work will:

  • Inform protocols for everyone working on the frontlines of healthcare in the United States
  • Innovate sophisticated solutions to engage and connect our network to other first responders and stakeholders
  • Create education and information for healthcare professionals and the public

SUMMARY:

The Fundraising / Development Associate will be focused on building and promoting the organization’s growth and sustainability by developing funding opportunities and creating and maintaining donors and partnerships on a national, regional and local level.

This is a fully remote, part time role in a small organization that requires comfort with leveraging technology to build and manage relationships throughout the country.

This role requires balancing a variety of priorities from internal stakeholders such as AFFIRM’s Board of Directors and external stakeholders through partnerships and the communities we serve. On a day-to-day basis, this role works independently with the support and management of the Executive Director and core Fundraising Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Executive Director and Development Team to develop strategic plans for donor engagement, partnerships, fundraising campaigns, and events.

Plan and manage fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, volunteer engagement, and new partnerships.

Provide outreach through outbound calling, social media, email marketing, and other platforms.

Identify and cultivate prospective donors and partners.

Create marketing materials and communication strategies.

Develop fundraising policies and reporting and communicate the organization’s impact.

EXPERIENCE:

Experience working remotely.

Experience with Donor Management Systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT)

Experience with relationship building and email marketing.

Experience with donor development and fundraising at a regional and national level.

Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently.

Ability to lead and support multiple tasks simultaneously at a high level.

G-Suite programs and tools, especially Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, and Forms.
