Community Conversations on Suicide Prevention in the Berkshires

 In Past Events

About this Event:

The American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine (AFFIRM), members of the Berkshire medical community, and leadership from the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) hosted a community conversation for interested citizens, health-care providers, police, teachers, social workers, service providers, faith-based community groups, and community leaders to discuss suicide prevention in the community.

Date: Monday December 9, 2019

Time: 7pm – 9pm

Place: Berkshire Medical Center Auditorium, 725 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201

As an opportunity to hear from and engage with community members to include physicians, nurses, first responders and survivors, this community meeting was designed to gather valuable insight and ideas on suicide prevention strategies relevant to our local needs, priorities and circumstances.

Together we shared what is working in suicide prevention in our community, identified where the gaps are, and what each of us can do to prevent suicide. On the basis of our discussions, an action group will be formed to plan further activities.

Be a part of the solution, and join us in creating the reality we all want to see.
