EMF/AFFIRM/ENAF Faculty Research Award in Firearm Injury Research

AFFIRM Research

Summary: One year (12-month) support to 1) facilitate innovative, high-quality research that can advance the evidence base on firearm injury prevention; 2) foster development of novel methods that can advance the state of research in this area; 3) support new partnerships between researchers in relevant disciplines; and 4) facilitate the academic growth and development of future leaders in firearm injury prevention research.

Applicants: Emergency medicine physician/nurse Co-Principal Investigator (PI) team in a Department or Division of Emergency Medicine. The nurse co-principal investigator must be a current Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) member; not have served on the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees, or ENA Foundation grant review team in the immediate past three years.

Notification of Award: June 2020

Funding Period: July 2020 – June 2021 (12 months)

Funding Amount Per Award: $75,000
